Grease Monkey had a lengthy publishing history before landing here at this website. It saw print multiple times over several years, which gave me multiple opportunities to go back in and spruce it up. During the evolution of Grease Monkey from one edition to the next, a lot of artwork was generated that had one purpose or another (sometimes none at all) but did not appear in the print versions. The first attempt to visualize Grease Monkey as animation was sparked by a 1993 contest to submit an original storyboard to the Cartoon Network. Since there never was a Grease Monkey TV show, you can guess how it turned out. But it did lead to discoveries which are presented here along with the complete storyboard.

One of my early goals for Grease Monkey was to explore its viability as an animated TV series. For this it was necessary to create a presentation package with new artwork that explained the story at a glance. Here are the images that were presented for consideration, which started from Book 1 and laid the foundation for Book 2.

As a thank you for spending time with Grease Monkey, I’d like to recommend some other things that either influenced it or relate to what happens in its pages.
